Abu was born in a village called Lohindi in the Bombali District of the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.  His father, who was a farmer, was bitten by a snake and died in 2002.  Abu’s mother died mysteriously a year later after the death of her husband.  Abu is presently staying with his aunt in Looking Town, Kissy.  Abu periodically complains of some abdomen pain.  Financial support is needed to sponsor his education and improve his living conditions.

Abu was born in 1999, just three months after the invasion at Freetown by rebels.  Abu’s father was conscripted and murdered by the rebels in Makeri in 1999.  His mother later died from a complicated illness in 2004.  Abu is staying with his uncle in Looking Town, Kissy.  Abu’s living conditions are deplorable and he needs financial support through sponsors to provide for his education and improved living conditions.

Alhaji lost his father when he was a very little boy. The father was seriously sick for over two years and later died. A year after his death, Alhaji’s mother also died during an operation she underwent at the Makeni Government Hospital in the Northern Province. Presently, Alhaji is staying with his uncle. He is a needy child and requires urgent welfare intervention. His uncle is poor and cannot properly take care of him.

Alimamy lost his mother due to a stray bullet during the rebel war in 2000. His father died in 2008 due to a bad operation. His uncle has a very large family and extended family responsibilities, but his income is very low to care for these responsibilities.

Digba was born in the Lohindi Village in the Bombali District.  Her father was a palm wine tapper and farmer.  He died from falling from a palm tree.  Her mother died when trying to give birth to a second child.  Digba is staying with her aunt at Looking Town, Kissy.  She needs support to go through her education by financing her as her living conditions are deplorable.

Fatu’s mother died from breast cancer and her father died through drowning on a business trip to Conakry.  Fatu is staying with her aunt in Looking Town, Kissy.  Fatu underwent an emergency operation after she ingested “caustic soda” (lye) which she mistook for sugar when she was hungry and had no food to eat.  She suffered from burns to her mouth, throat and ulcerations to her gastrointestinal tract.  Urgent support is required for her living, health, and educational situation.

Foday was born in Kambia Village in the Bombali District of Sierra Leone.  He is staying with his Aunt in Looking Town, Kissy.  Foday’s parents were burnt alive in their house by rebels who attacked.  Foday was saved by his aunt who took him to see a friend in another village.  Educational sponsorship is needed, as well as an improvement in living conditions which are deplorable.

Isatu lives with a guardian, Rugiatu, who is a single, petty trader.  Isatu needs sponsorship support to further her schooling and to improve her life conditions.

Issa attends school at New Era Primary School in Kissy and is in Class 2.  Issa’s father was a tailor who died of a machete injury suffered as a result of the rebel brutality during the war in Freetown.  His mother died later from injuries suffered during a fall.  Issa is a true orphan with two sisters who were sent to live with other relatives.  Issa stays with his grandmother, and his situation is desperate as his grandmother, a petty trader, is unable to support his education and other welfare needs.

Sallay was born in a village (Lohindi) in the Northern Province and was brought to Freetown by her uncle after the death of her mother.  Sallay’s mother died from tetanus / wounds, while her father fell from a palm tree and died in a hospital at Makeni.  Sallay is suffereing from a hearing problem.  Her living condition is deplorable and requires sponsorship to continue her educational career.

Yassin was born to his parents in Kamabai in the Bombali District of the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.  Yassin lost his father when he was three years old.  His father fell from a palm tree and died instantly.  His mother died in 2005 from paralysis.  Yassin is now staying with his aunt, a petty trader, in Looking Town, Kissy.  He experiences periodic chest pain.  Yassin needs educational assistance through sponsorship and to improve his living conditions.

Zainab was born in Freetown.  He mother was brutally killed by rebels in 1999 during the rebel invasion of Freetown.  Her father was forced by the rebels to carry their looted properties and has never been seen again.  It is presumed that he was killed.  Zainab is presently staying with her aunt.  Zainab needs educational sponsorship and improvement in her living conditions which are deplorable.
